ADVA® 337, a mid-range water reducer, is a polymer-based aqueous solution admixture with superior dispersing capacity for the cement particles in the concrete mix. ADVA 337 neutralises the surface charges on cement particles and produces superior dispersion, resulting in complete, efficient cement hydration which in turn greatly increases strength development at 28 days. It is a low viscosity liquid which has been formulated by the manufacturer for use as received. ADVA 337 contains no added chloride. ADVA 337 is formulated to comply with the following chemical admixture specifications for concrete: ASTM C494, Type B and D; BS EN 934-2.
One litre of ADVA 337 weighs approximately 1.03kg ± 0.02kg.
- The low alkaline content of ADVA 337 is particularly useful in applications where a limit on the equivalent sodium oxide of the mix design is specified.
- ADVA 337 produces concrete with enhanced workability and extended slump retention to facilitate delivery and concrete placement and compaction.
- ADVA 337 concrete, even at high slump, exhibits no significant segregation (reduces tendency to bleed) in comparison to concrete without a superplasticiser at the same slump.
- ADVA 337 can produce low water-cement ratio concrete and achieve high strength requirement.
- ADVA 337 aids in rapid discharge of concrete from truck mixers thereby reducing on the job time and improving mixer utilisation.
Compatibility with Other Admixtures
In concrete containing ADVA 337 the use of an air-entraining agent (such as Daravair® or Darex® AEA®) is recommended to provide suitable air void parameters for resistance against freeze-thaw attack. Due to synergistic effects between ADVA 337 and airentraining agents, the quantity of air-entraining admixture added to concrete containing ADVA 337 may be reduced. Please consult your local GCP representative for dosage guidance.
ADVA 337 is not compatible with NSFC or similar type products. Most water reducers or water-reducing retarders are compatible with ADVA 337 as long as they are added separately to the concrete.
Caution should be exercised when using ADVA 337 with a retarder, as excessive retardation can occur if the admixture dosages are too high. Pre-testing of the concrete should be performed to optimise dosages and addition times of these admixtures. The admixtures should not be in contact with each other before they enter the concrete.

Addition rates of ADVA 337 can vary with type of applications governed by water-cement ratio and the characteristics of the concrete and constituent materials. Dosage rates can vary and range from 400 to 1,500mL / 100kg of cementitious materials which at a given water-cement ratio, the slump required for placement can be controlled by varying the addition rate. For best results, ADVA 337 should be added with the mix water.
Should job site conditions require using more than recommended addition rates please consult your local GCP representative.
ADVA 337 is available in bulk, in 200L drums and in 1000L totes. ADVA 337 contains no flammable ingredients. In storage, and for proper dispensing, ADVA 337 should be stored under shelter and away from direct sunlight or areas of extreme cold and hot.
