Product Description

ADVA® Flow 139V is a new generation water reducer based on comb polymer technology. It is a ready-to-use, high performing liquid admixture with superior dispersing capacity for the cement particles in the concrete mix. This capability exceeds that of normal water-reducing admixtures, resulting in lower dosages and better control.

ADVA Flow 139V contains no added chloride. One litre weighs approximately 1.08kg ± 0.02kg. ADVA Flow 139V complies with the requirements of admixture specifications: SS 320: 1987; BS 5075: Part 3.

Applications

Excellent slump control and slump retention are necessary properties of any high quality concrete. ADVA Flow 139V is a tailor-made admixture that helps concrete achieve excellent slump retention for all ranges of design workability. ADVA Flow 139V is extremely effective in enhancing workability and slump retention even in mid-slump concrete and concrete with manufactured sand (crush granite fines), where conventional admixtures have difficulties achieving these properties.

ADVA Flow 139V is suitable for a wide range of quality concrete, from low to higher grade concrete, by adjusting addition rate. The use of ADVA superplasticiser can help to provide further water reduction when very low water-cement ratio is needed.

Compatibility with Other Admixtures

Most water reducers or water-reducing retarders are compatible with ADVA Flow 139V as long as they are added separately to the concrete.

Caution should be exercised when using ADVA Flow 139V with a retarder, as excessive retardation can occur if the admixture dosages are too high. Pre-testing of the concrete should be performed to optimise dosages and addition times of these admixtures. The admixtures should not be in contact with each other before they enter the concrete.

ADVA Flow 139V is not compatible with DAREX® Super 20 and DARACEM® products.

Addition Rates

Addition rates of ADVA Flow 139V can vary with type of application. Depending on the application, dosage rates can range from 400 to 1,500mL / 100kg of cementitious material. For best results, ADVA Flow 139V should be added with the mix water. At a given water-cement ratio, the slump required for placement can be controlled by varying the addition rate. It is necessary, therefore, to assess performance under site conditions using actual materials to determine optimum performance and dosage and effect on both plastic and hardened concrete properties such as cohesiveness, workability retention, setting characteristics, rate of early strength gain, ultimate strength and shrinkage where these are of importance. Should job site conditions require using more than recommended addition rates, please consult your local GCP representative.

Packaging

ADVA Flow 139V is available in bulk, in 205L drums and in 1,000L totes. ADVA Flow 139V contains no flammable ingredients. In storage, and for proper dispensing, ADVA Flow 139V should be stored under shelter and away from direct sunlight.
